Program Updates
The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is now a school wide project. As all the instructional assistants apply the PECS program to their daily routines, our students are becoming more efficient communicators. Also, Instructional Assistants anxiously await the arrival of the Reading Mastery Program. This program uses a direct instruction method and should assist us in building the expressive and receptive language skills of our students whom are non-verbal, and help build enunciation skills and vocabulary for our students whom are beginning readers. We anticipate the progress our students will make as we combine the use of SRA's Reading Mastery Program and Language for Learning Program.
Working Men
As our young men continue to work harder and harder out in the community, more of the students begin to enter into the "Workability Training Program" to gain work readiness skills. This is made possible in part by Round Table Pizza of Greenhaven and PRIDE Industries.

Here at CHC we welcome the cold weather. Our students anticipate the fun indoor activities and look forward to getting their hands on the exciting arts and crafts projects. They also are reminded of all the holiday celebrations complete with potlucks and gift exchanges. So as the song goes, “let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”
